When I first started taking care of Butch I made a promise to myself that I would only do business with those companies that love thier pets. It’s because of this reason that I seek out the best companies that I can to bring them to your attention. Kristen has been a pet lover since her childhood and has loved animals all her life. She has had quite the interesting career path which led her to start her company. Listen in on how being a Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s Cheerleader helped her to start her company.Â
On a sad note Kristen and her husband lost a dear member of their family, their golden lab ”Buck” who was 13-1/2. All of us knows the hole in our lives that losing a member of the family can cause and I wanted to offer our sympathy from all of us at My Buddy Butch to Kristen and her family.

I had not had a chance to talk with Kristen before the show at any length and I had really just met her on the phone a few minutes before the show started, so I had no idea that her pal had passed away when I asked “what her dog’s name is.” An understandably emotional conversation began. What makes this particularly sentimental and somewhat strange for me is that just last week in Chicago, I was asked what would happen to the “My Buddy Butch” name once Butch was gone. Not something I like to think about… but I said ”of course it will live on but there will never be another Butch!” I then mentioned that I would pick his successor but his name will not be “Butch II.” There will be only one “Butch.” I then said that I had already thought of a name for his successor and that it would be “Buck.” This conversation took place on Saturday July 11th…  amazing coincidence!?! I can not, at this point, think of a better name and reason for it when the time comes! In any case, the Levine’s loss of their “Buck” struck a chord and I feel their pain. Despite my need to assert my manhood, I well up just thinking about it. All the best to Kristen and her family from me and Butch!

ALA Conference in Chicago 2009
Had a great time in Chicago at the book signings! Met a lot of terrific people and pet owners and we all shared a story or two about our pets and some of the crazy antics they can perform! I’ll definitely go back!
