Anne Reel of The Humane Society of Elkhart Indiana joined us this week to talk about the tremendous overcrowding problem happening at the shelter. This is happening not only in Elkhart but in other areas around the country and unfortunately you know what happens when you get 600 to 700 animals each month and only have room for 300. It’s heartbreaking for the staff members as well as the community when animals need to be put down. Check out the article on MSNBC about this Humane Society trying to find homes for many animals.
