Hour 1-National Geographic is introducing a new web site for kids and reptile expert and host of NatGeo Wild’s “Dangerous Encounters” Brady Barr joins Jeff to talk about it. A fun site for kids, which is a great idea to keep them busy over the holidays, there are hours of fun that can be had here! A game that they can play for free with interactive video and other fun items. Best of all there is a section for parents to help keep tabs on the game their children are playing. It’s National Geographic so you know it’s a good site! Jeff also gives a complete run down on the six new breeds that will make their TV debut on the National Dog Show presented by Purina on NBC on Thanksgiving Day. Jeff talks about the specific breeds and gives summary descriptions on each.This is the fourth year that Jeff had covered the event so he also talks a bit out the procedures that the AKC has in place to register new breed standards and a little bit about how a dog show competition is defined.

Author Alison Pace who is a great friend of the My Buddy Butch Show stops buy to talk about her great news that her book “Pug Hill” was released to mass market paperback. She’ll explain what that means and talk about the other outstanding books that she has written. If you are interested in writing you have to read one of Alison’s books…she teaches writing in New York so she knows more than a little bit about writing! Gary Nice joins Jeff from the Canine Cancer Foundation in Phoenix. They have chapters around the country and are doing great work. Unless you have lost a pet to cancer or have lost a pet for any reason you will understand what this research means to many people. Not only that but the same cancers that attack us humans also attack dogs and the research being done benefits humans as much as it does dogs! Dogs rescue humans yet again….News and announcements – Report from an ABC-TV affiliate in Cleveland Ohio reports that spot on flea/tick preventative are causing serious illnesses and even death to pets in some cases. Reports from the EPA since 2009 prompted an investigation and a warning in 2010. Reminder – feed your pets pet food NOT human food or table scraps around the upcoming holidays.
This week – Hour 1 – Sheri-Lyn Traylor joins Jeff this week to talk about “Bella-Dog” Magazine that covers interesting news stories and events that you can do with your dog. She tells us how they got started and where they are today. Also Jeff checks in with The Nashville Humane Association after the flooding and everything that happened last year in that area of our country. News – foreign insects, fungus, and bacteria are invading our country and this problem now threatens our way of life. Jeff discusses how these pests get here and the damage that they are doing which effects all of us and our way of life.
Hour 2 – All the way from Dubai to Canada and now on our show author A.Lawati joins Jeff to talk about his new children’s book “The Jungle Adventure of Chimpoo.” This is a great book for young children just learning to read and even for ages up to 11 years old. After having a pet monkey of his own and teaching his own children to love animals A.Lawati wanted to do something to help all children learn some of life’s lessons through this nicely illustrated book. Certified Animal Behavior Consultant and regular on the My Buddy Butch Show, Darlene Arden joins Jeff to talk about the Senior for Senior programs and the positive effect that getting a senior pet for a senior citizen can have on both of them. This is a topic near and dear to Jeff’s heart as his father is now 87 and Jeff has seen the positive effect that pets have had on him. National Dog Show Coverage begins and they are introducing 6 new breeds. Jeff discusses one of the new breeds. Also, Jeff reports on his first ever Caribbean Cruise that he took a couple of weeks ago and the hurrican in the gulf!

With his affinity to working outdoors in nice weather he is interested in all types of lawn care products that are safe for family and for pets and animals. Jackson Madnick founder of “Pearl’s Premium” which is a “people, pet & planet friendly” lawn seed mixture joins Jeff to talk about this revolutionary new seed blend that needs very little mowing, will stay green all year around, and needs much less watering than traditional lawns and grass seed…could this be an end to Jeff’s fanatical mowing on his tractor? The wild animal fiasco in Zanesville Ohio that occurred last week has Jeff up in arms. Ohio is one of the worst states in the USA when it comes to wild animal laws and with the animal auctions that occur in the state it makes it easy for just about anyone to buy a lions, tigers, and bears Oh My(…I just had to) . Why ANYONE would be allowed to own an exotic out side of a zoo or sanctuary is ridiculous. Jeff was honored to speak with Dr. Shelly Rubin who was a President of the society that is helping the veterinary industry and educating pet owners on this highly preventable disease but difficult to treat once your pet contracts it. Do you know why it is important to give your pet the preventative year around? Well, Dr. Shelly Rubin tells us why and also clues us in on the other things that the preventative helps…well…prevent! Oh Yeah, by the way Dr. Shelly was also Oprah’s Vet before she moved to California to start her network OWN! Also Jeff discusses some halloween reminders about what your pets should NOT be eating.
